Discover great films and make new friendships in the comfortable surroundings of Filmhouse at Senior Selections, our popular film programme for over-60s! We are delighted to welcome back the event in person, after two years away.
Senior Selections films are chosen and introduced by our Senior Volunteers, who will be on hand to welcome you and have an informal chat after the film in the cinema. These monthly film screenings take place on the first Wednesday of each month with screenings in Cinema 1 at 11.00am and there's a more relaxed screening in Cinema 3 at 10.45am, this will have lights on and easy access to toilets. Tickets are £4 each and the films will be shown with captions (descriptive subtitles) where possible.
After the screening, you will also be invited to join us for complimentary tea/coffee/biscuits & a chat!
5th Oct - Belle // 2nd Nov - 1917 // 7th Dec - It's a Wonderful Life
In response to the pandemic, we have made some changes to ensure that all Senior Selections events are safe, accessible and remain affordable for our audience members. Each screening will have a reduced capacity to allow for social distancing, and staff and audience members will be asked to wear a mask throughout the screening. In the Enhanced Access Screenings, the house lights will only be dimmed slightly throughout the screening, and the sound will be lower than usual to allow for a more relaxed cinema environment.
Thank you to our supporters who make Senior Selections possible: Foyle Foundation, Nancie Massey Charitable Trust, and all those who wish to remain anonymous .
