Fruits Basket: Prelude

Before the main series, there was the story of Kyoko and Katsuya Honda. Though remembered by her daughter Tohru as wise and gentle, Kyoko Katsunama's wisdom was hard-won. As a lonely, abrasive teenager with a painful home life, Kyoko earns herself a reputation as a violent delinquent, nicknamed “The Red Butterfly,” and becomes the leader of a gang. But things begin to take a turn when Kyoko meets trainee teacher Katsuya Honda, the first person in Kyoko's life who's had kindness to spare for her.
