Part of the EIFF Youth Eco Weekender Season
When catastrophic climate change endangers Earth’s very survival, world governments unite and create Project Dutch Boy: a global net of satellites surrounding the planet that are armed with geo-engineering technologies designed to stave off the natural disasters. After successfully protecting the planet for two years, something starts to go wrong. Two estranged brothers (Gerard Butler and Jim Sturgess) are tasked with solving the program’s malfunction before a worldwide geostorm can engulf the planet.
This captioned screening includes an introduction from the EIFF Young Activists and will be screening alongside short films from Film Access Scotland's Climate Challenge: 1.5 Degrees Films project. The event will be followed by a Q&A with activists who went to COP26 to protest.
EIFF Youth is funded through the PLACE Programme, a partnership between the Scottish Government through Creative Scotland, the City of Edinburgh Council and the Edinburgh Festivals, and supported by Baillie Gifford, the Foyle Foundation, Gannochy Trust, Procam Take 2, Culture & Business Fund Scotland and Young Start. EIFF Young Activists is supported by the Hugh Fraser Foundation. The EIFF Young Critics programme is supported by James and Morag Anderson.
